Miniature Traction Engines and more!

Something for all the family at Ruddington’s Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre this weekend, 22nd & 23rd April from 10am to 4pm, where there’ll be a welcome return to the gathering of miniature traction engines.

NTHC says the 2-day rally event “will be in operation both days within the site and may well be offering rides. We are open 10 until 4 both Saturday and Sunday and as usual, our collection of preserved buses from the local area can be viewed. On Sunday, weather and volunteers permitting the miniature ride on trains will be running along their extended track.”

The Nottingham Society Of Model And Experimental Engineers Ltd operate the miniature railway and for a small fee you too can enjoy the ride – all things being equal!

The Ruddington Model Railway Club will also be open on Saturday and Sunday, where you can view their layouts. If you’ve a specific question please ask members who’re happy to help and you can also ask about their sale items.

The Heritage Cafe will be open 10am until 4pm serving hot meals, snacks and drinks all weekend – again, weather and volunteers permitting.

Organisers are also proud that its Bric-A-Brac emporium will be open and selling a wide range of railwayana, books and general goods.” NTHC friends from the Rempstone Steam and Country Show will be on-site to advertise their event and on Sunday, the local branch of the Yamaha motor cycle club plan to be in attendance.

Nottingham Transport Heritage Centre is one of Ruddington’s visitor attractions, so a great place for a family day out! Car parking is available on site for the cost of £2 – it can usually be paid into the collection box located in the car park.
